Global comedy superstar Kevin Hart has once again expressed admiration for Rwanda, dedicating a full 13 minutes of his new Netflix special Acting My Age (released on November 24, 2025) to highlight the country’s cleanliness, safety, unity, and hospitality.

Hart revealed that his visit to Kigali completely transformed his perception of Africa, challenging stereotypes often held in the United States.

“When I arrived in Rwanda, I saw one of the cleanest countries I’ve ever been to,” he said, noting that he couldn’t spot even a trace of litter on the streets.

He emphasized that Rwanda’s image stands in stark contrast to how many Americans underestimate Africa.

Impressed by Umuganda
One of the aspects that touched Hart deeply was Umuganda, Rwanda’s monthly community service day.

“It’s extraordinary. It shows the unity of the nation,” he explained, joking that such collective action would be impossible in countries like the U.S.

Hart also praised Rwanda’s security and tranquility, describing it as a place where visitors can truly relax.

“When you’re in Rwanda, you feel safe and everything is well organized. You wonder why other countries can’t reach this level,” he remarked.

Memorable Adventures
The comedian recalled his time in Volcanoes National Park, calling it one of the best and safest experiences of his life. He also admired Rwanda’s housing, governance, and development, comparing the nation to some of the world’s most advanced countries.

During his family trip in July 2023, Hart visited Volcanoes National Park to see the rare mountain gorillas, toured Akagera National Park, paid respects at the Genocide Memorial, and supported local fashion by shopping at Haute Baso.

A Message to the West
Hart used his platform to challenge Western audiences who still hold outdated views of Africa.

“People back home think Africa looks the same everywhere. But when you arrive in Kigali, you realize that’s not true at all.”
