Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 limited to android 16: Full device list and new features
Xiaomi has officially confirmed that HyperOS 3.1 will be exclusively available to devices running Android 16, marking a strategic shift in how the company aligns its custom operating system with Android platform upgrades. This means that devices currently on Android 15 with HyperOS 3 will not be eligible for the 3.1 update, continuing the precedent set during the HyperOS 2 rollout.
Despite being relatively recent releases, the following models will not receive the HyperOS 3.1 update due to their Android 15 base:
POCO Series: F5 5G, F5 Pro, M6 Pro, X6 Neo
Redmi Series: 13C, K50 Ultra, K60, K60 Pro, Note 12T Pro, Note 12 Turbo, Note 13 5G, Note 13R Pro
Xiaomi Flagships: 12, 12 Pro, 12S, 12S Pro, 12S Ultra, 12T, 12T Pro
Others: Xiaomi Civi 3, MIX FOLD 2, Pad 6 Max 14
What’s Coming in HyperOS 3.1
While Xiaomi hasn’t released the full changelog, early insights suggest several enhancements:
iOS-style Recent Apps UI: A redesigned multitasking interface for smoother navigation
Customizable Control Center Tiles: Inspired by Android 16, allowing users to resize and rearrange quick settings
Unified UI Across Devices: A consistent experience across smartphones, tablets, and AIoT products part of Xiaomi’s broader HyperConnect ecosystem
Support for Android 15 Devices
Although these devices won’t receive HyperOS 3.1, Xiaomi is still providing security patches and feature backports, ensuring stable performance and partial feature continuity for Android 15 users.
